Get up, Stand up: Get on board and SUPort the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.Brought to you by:
Brand new for 2017- The Day we ALL get on the water and showcase our sport and share with everyone else. For the first time, SUP is a part of the annual Leukemia Cup Regatta - the largest sailing event in the state. It is an event within an event where SUP and Spinnakers share the limelight. .
AYC is introducing an all ages, all levels of experience, non-stop fun stand up paddle boarding (“SUP”) event during the Leukemia Cup / Birthday Regatta at beautiful Lake Pleasant on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Never been on a SUP board? We’re going to have SUP board demos with instruction by certified SUP coaches. Want to try SUP yoga? Get down, dog, with a certified yoga and paddle board instructor. You feel the need for speed? There’ll be a 3K fun race and a 10K race for more experienced paddlers.
If you haven’t done it before but want to try the fastest growing water sport in the country, here are some suggestions on what to bring: hat; sunglasses; sunscreen; clothes that will dry quickly if they get wet; water shoes/sneakers; water bottle; and a towel—you know, in case a friend gets wet.
We’ll have bagels, coffee and beverages.
On Sunday February 19, you can take your stand up paddling to the next level at a Performance Paddling clinic with Anthony Vela and special guests. It’ll be 4 hours of top tier professional coaching on and off the water for $150 per person.
Please note: The Saturday events registration fee does not include this clinic. We’ll be posting more info on this incredible opportunity shortly.
